Beginning 30 August, division and discussion group forums on the MLA Web site will be superseded by forums on MLA Commons, the association’s online network and scholarly communication platform for members. If you haven’t already visited your divisions’ or discussion groups’ areas on the Commons, we encourage you to log in and view your profile to see the groups you are already a member of. Click on Forum to start a conversation, respond to a topic, or post a notice about your convention session. If the group forum has been disabled by the group’s admin, please use the Feedback button on the right side of the group page to let us know.

I am apparently logged in but don’t have access to these commons. I logged in out of curiosity as to what it was, but am not sure what the point is if one has to go to all sorts of trouble to get access. There are many other things to do in a busy academic life, and other ways to “interact.”
Dear Professor Rajan,
I’m so sorry that you’ve had trouble accessing the site. We are eager to make sure the platform is as accessible as possible, so we appreciate your feedback. Your submitted comment did come through and is now posted. (All first-time commenters on a site are subject to an approval queue, so comments won’t appear immediately.)
Some resources that may be helpful in navigating the Commons are posted in the blog of the Welcome Group (http://howtouse.mla.hcommons.org/). There are posts on creating a Commons account (http://howtouse.mla.hcommons.org/2013/05/31/creating-an-account-on-mla-commons/
), using group forums (http://howtouse.mla.hcommons.org/category/how-to-do-things-with-mla-commons/forums/), and much more. If you encounter bugs on the site or have suggestions for improvements, you should also feel free to click on the Feedback button on the right side of most pages on the site.
I hope that you and other members will find these helpful and that as conversations continue to develop on the site you’ll find it a worthwhile resource.
Best,
Anna
I understand NONE of this. I thought I had already sent an essay to the MLA but have not had any response about sessions or sections. I’d appreciate it if you would give me an update about my request.
Thanks,

I do not understand any of this–clarify. I’ve not even heard back about my submission for a presentation at the conference that I made several months ago….
