I suggest a visit to the Hispanic Society http://hispanicsociety.org/
Everyone knows about the big museums downtown. This is one is a relatively secret jewel.

I would love to go on an excursion to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. Or maybe the MLA can secure discounted tickets?
