On 9 June 2014, the Committee on Scholarly Editions (CSE) awarded the CSE seal to three new editions: Willa Cather, Lucy Gayheart, edited by Guy Reynolds, David Porter, and Kari Ronning, with an introductory essay and notes by David Porter, to be published by the University of Nebraska Press; James Fenimore Cooper, Homeward Bound; or, The Chase: A Tale of the Sea, edited by Stephen Carl Arch, to be published by AMS Press; and The Siege of Jerusalem, edited by Timothy L. Stinson, to be published by the Society for Early English and Norse Electronic Texts.
The CSE serves as a clearinghouse for information about scholarly editing and editorial projects, offers advice and consultation to editors on request, honors excellence in editing by awarding emblems to qualified volumes, and promotes dissemination of reliable texts for classroom use and among general readers. Editors or publishers who wish to submit their editions (preferably before or at the copyediting stage) for consideration for the CSE seal should contact the committee at cse@mla.org.
