I’m interested is presenting at the Conference–Do I need to jin or form a session or just submit a paer or abstract for consideration. I am Alumni Distinguished Professor of English, mainly a scholar of Donne [11 books, many articles and presentations] and Shakespeare [several articles] and other published articles on Renaissance authors [Herbert, Vaughan, Milton, Jonson, and esp. Donne–currently working on “The Complete Letters of John Donne,” under contract with Oxford Univ. Press]. I missed the last three conferences because of a family tragedy, but want to get “Back on the Case” [like Chief Inspector Clouseau]. Can you send me information anew about how to go about this opportunity?
Thank yo for your assistance and time.

Dear Professor Hester,

We’re delighted that you’re interested in participating in the 2014 convention. To participate as a presenter, you may propose a special session with other panelists, using the forms at http://www.mla.org/ssp_main, or you may respond to a call for papers at http://www.mla.org/callsforpapers. Although most calls for papers had a deadline of 15 March or earlier, there are a few that have slightly later deadlines (22 or 25 March, for example). Membership is required to propose a session; to participate in a session organized by another member, you would need to renew your membership by 7 April. If you have additional questions, please feel free to e-mail convention@mla.org.

Best wishes,
Anna
