Deadline Approaching for MLA Symposium Proposals

Interested in participating in the MLA’s first conference outside the United States and Canada? Don’t miss the 15 September deadline for proposals for Other Europes: Migrations, Translations, Transformations, an MLA symposium to be held in Düsseldorf from 23 to 25 June 2016. Organized in collaboration with the Heinrich Heine University, the symposium will open with Anthony Appiah, 2016 MLA president, in conversation with Susan Neiman, director of the Einstein Forum in Potsdam. The conference will also feature a reading and reflection by the authors Aminatta Forna, Eva Hoffman, and Yoko Tawada. Session formats include keynote talks and roundtables, as well as traditional sessions with three or four fifteen-minute papers, workshops with precirculated papers, and roundtable conversations based on five-minute presentations.
